Institutions

	The Management of the Water Resources of the Cyprus is carried out mainly by two Ministries, the Ministry of Agriculture,Natural Resources and Environment which through the Department of Water Development is responsible for all technical and administrative aspects of water resources development, protection and management and the Ministry of Interior which is mainly responsible for the administration at the consumers level. Other institutions are responsible for wastewater collection treatment and other activities, which make the task of water management more complicated. At present there are plans by the Government to reorganize the institutional set-ups of the water sector through the establishment of a water entity to undertake responsibility for the management of all water resources responsible for all the water cycle.
